Mr. S. Soundrapandian is a post-graduate in Mechanical Engineering (Machine Design) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Chennai, India. He obtained his post-graduate degree (M. Tech.) in 1977. He was actively involved in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in the academy. He is an accomplished writer in Tamil (his mother-tongue) and in English. He worked for the public sector company - the Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited, Tiruchirappalli - 620 014, India from 1976 to 1997 (22 years). He was working with the multi-national company - Mitsui Babcock Energy (India) Private Limited, Chennai - 600 010, India, from 1997 to 2002 (five years). He was an Engineering Consultant in India from 2002 to 2005(3 years). He is presently working with the private sector company - CETHAR Vessels (Private) Limited, Tiruchirappalli - 620 001, India. He has taught Machine Design to the under-graduate students in the Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli - 620 015, India. He has guided about one hundred under-graduate and post-graduate students during 1980 to 2004 on various projects. He has published in national and inter-national conferences and journals. He has solved about five hundred field and shop problems in India and abroad. He is a member of the Institute of Engineers (India). He is affiliated to the Institute of Engineers (India) as a Chartered Engineer (India). He has traveled to the United States of America, England, Scotland, Singapore and Taiwan. He has managed Engineering outsourcing projects for the Mitsui Babcock Energy Limited, United Kingdom. He lives with his wife and two children in Chennai, India. |
